How We Treat
If you’re concerned about your substance use or are worried about a loved one, help is just around the corner. Our Music Row location offers evaluations, group therapy, case management, and other life-changing services for substance use disorder and mental health care.
Substance Use Disorder Assessments
If you feel like your substance use has become a problem but aren’t sure what to do next, we can help. Evaluations empower clients to identify harmful behaviors, understand the scope of their dependency, and seek professional help.
Cumberland Heights’ assessments for substance use disorder determine the best approach for treating each patient. They also identify co-occurring disorders like depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder.
Taking this first step can be difficult, but our team will walk with you every step of the way as you recover. Our goal is to help you live a life free from addiction. If you need to be screened for a substance use disorder, or if you would like to refer a loved one or employee, contact our Music Row location.
Treatment Planning & Therapy
Addiction treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all, so we believe in creating treatment plans based on a person’s individual needs. When a client contacts our Music Row location, we work directly with them to understand their needs, goals, and areas of concern. Using this information, our experts craft a fully personalized program of care. This serves as a blueprint for your Cumberland Heights experience.
Group therapy is the primary modality at our Music Row outpatient center. However, this location also offers individual therapy sessions. In these one-on-one meetings, clients are paired with counselors who specialize in addiction treatment. During each session, you will gain valuable insight into potential sources of addictive behaviors and develop crucial coping skills. You’ll also learn more about substance use disorder through group and individual sessions. Together, these approaches lay the groundwork for lasting recovery.
Because our treatment plans are fully customized, the therapies we use vary from patient to patient. However, they are always scientifically backed. Cumberland Heights programs are rooted in evidence-based practices, or EBPs. This means that the group and individual therapies we provide are backed by research and measurable outcomes. Case Management
Recovery is more than just abstaining from drug and alcohol use. It requires community involvement and ongoing support. Our case managers help by connecting clients with local resources, which empowers each patient to navigate legal proceedings and maintain momentum throughout early recovery.
Patient Referrals
If a client requires more intensive care for acute physical or mental health needs, we help them find it. Our Music Row outpatient center provides patient referrals to medical professionals and mental health facilities throughout Middle Tennessee.
Family Programming
Addiction impacts the whole family – in fact, it’s often called “a family disease.” At our outpatient centers, we provide educational programs for parents, children, spouses, and other loved ones. Our classes help family members set boundaries, process their feelings, and develop an in-depth understanding of substance use disorder. These meetings help family members to find peace and inner strength. They also offer much-needed support for those seeking to overcome addiction.
Telehealth Options
People throughout Tennessee seeking treatment from their own home can access Intensive Outpatient Treatment through Telehealth. Patients can choose a morning or an evening group and participate from a confidential space in their own home, deriving benefits of group and individual counseling that occur in our in-person groups. All that is required is an internet connection with a camera for two-way visual connection. Treatment sessions are dynamic and utilize multiple facets of technology to engage our clients through group therapy, educational topics, and patient presentations of personalized treatment plan assignments.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We care for all our patients though a DEI lens, meaning we look at treatment protocols and cultural norms, constantly asking ourselves whether they work for everyone, and how they might be adjusted to embrace and celebrate the uniqueness of everyone. Cumberland Heights is an inclusive organization that honors, serves, and advocates for those who belong to marginalized and unrepresented communities. We are a safe space for those with diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and lifestyles.
